“When the fur trade goes wrong..” - when was it ever right? The hideous truth about the cruelty of the fur trade has manifested itself by means of countless photo’s and clips released on the net. Since CNN (Larry King’s) exposure of the horror’s of this trade, innumerable petitions against live skinning of dogs, cats and other small animals in China has been signed by millions of distraught animal lovers. More than two million scared and abused animals have had to endure being skinned, boiled alive, anally electrecuted, the list goes on, yearly. When a live-skinned (still alive) small dog stares at you from a photo, tossed aside on a heap where other skinned small animals lay waiting to die, instantly rips away any layers of complacency, exposing a primal need to go in there and with a mighty sweep save those helpless creatures, demolishing the perpetrators, all in one go!! On one of the photo’s a skinner, a young Chinese guy with a bloody knife in his hands, smiles at the camera, leaning over a half dead skinned dog. The skin is used for covering soft toys, collars, designer coats, inners for boots, watch straps, chewies for dogs, leather bags and shoes, the list goes on. After testing, many of these items have been found to be contaminated and a health hazard. Although most countries have banned the import of these items, through mis-labeling, the Chinese cunningly manage to slip their gruesome cargo through. Countries have meanwhile wisened up and stricter control is being put in place. The fight goes on… China won’t let up, neither will HSUS, PETA, Animalorg, Gopetition NSPCA and all the other brave souls who have worked night and day to expose and put an end this hellish trade in China. The fur trade has NEVER been right…
